Cat Sketches
Here are some old cat sketches I did a couple months back. Personally I think I'm far better at drawing cats then canines, but I'll let you guys decide.
![]() This is my most recent cat sketch. I realize the eyes are off, but I've never been good at making eyes proportionate to one another. ![]() Second sketch that I've done entirely digitally. I messed up with the legs in the background, but I think it was an improvement over my first. ![]() And this would be my first sketch done completely digitally - it was also my first time using Corel Painter, so I didn't know how to adjust brushes or anything like that, which is why its so sloppy. xD I know that there are many things wrong with this one, most notably the feet and legs. Back then I was completely clueless when it came to paws. ![]() Next up is my favorite, drawn traditionally. ![]() Finally, here is one I did way back in middle school. ![]() If you couldn't tell, I put them in the order from newest to oldest. So what do you guys think, have I shown any improvement over these five drawings? |

RE: Cat Sketches
I like them personally :3 I think they look great, you're good at drawing felines!
I'd work with adding a little more detail, such as around the eyes and stuff, but heck, you're getting it! Cat's aren't that easy to draw haha ![]() |

RE: Cat Sketches
I think the second one from the top is the best I think. It's more proportionate. Still, I agree with Rurouna, adding more detail would be the next step.

RE: Cat Sketches
Thanks for your comments! I've said it before, but I can never seem to get the eyes right. They always come out looking... off. xD
From now on I hope to finish all my pictures completely; I also might redo these images, fix some some of the mistakes with what I've learned and add in some color. If I get them done, I'll be sure to post 'em up for you guys. |

RE: Cat Sketches
I go with the third one. The one that you've done with corel paint.. The cat in the drawing seems like it is moving. It's not stationary anyway. Compared to the rest, moving animals will give more impact to the viewers as the motion of the object was abstractly seen.
